What would you do? How would you fill your life?
- I would ride my bike as much as I could.
- I would spend as much time outside as I could.
- I would be near water.
- I would read and write.
- I would have campfires and watch the sparks from the crackling wood flare up and disappear like tracers into the darkness.
- I would want to drink coffee, lots of coffee, and lots of mineral water.
- I would want to have a cat. And birds. I know they don't mix. But I would want a cat. Or a dog to take for walks. Like that dog I took for walks at the Preacher's Inn in Prairie du Chien.
- I'd want to do some exploring: Effigy Mounds, the south park; South Manitou Island. The Mississippi bottomlands. Where the ghosts lurk. Ellis Island, the abandoned grounds.
- I'd find the most preciously beautiful music I could.
- I'd read my poems.
- I'd spend as much time as I could reading with kids.
- I'd take a ride or two on the old Badger.
- I'd eat at roadside stands.
